Artist's Comments

I made this out of different pictures I found. I made only a 1024x768 version for now.

You may not recognize the man on the right, he is Josip Broz Tito, a former Yugoslavian president. I put him on this picture because he was the first Communist leader who defied Stalin's leadership.

Yes, Lenin is a different color for a reason.

The men on this wallpaper are the few, who I think made some progress in Communism. Theoretical Communism is ideal, sadly only theoretical. There will always be a situation, where one man will have more than the other.

Enjoy, but don't idealise.

-There are a number of kibbutzim with citizens that would say otherwise.

Why is Comrade Lenin in white then?

Becouse in my book, he's the one who stopped talking about Communism, and started putting it to the test.

Teoretical to practical.

THANK YOU.

Someone who has actually done research into cooperative societies and realizes that they not only can but DO work.

That's brilliant. Nice touch adding Tito :)

I really like what you've done with Che Guevara, did you do that with just a normal photoshop brush?

Meanwhile everyone wants to breathe and nobody can. Many say, “We will breathe later.”
And most of them don’t die because they are already dead.

Nice try, although I wouldn't have used Tito. I would have been more likely to use Karl Marx (with or without Engels), Lenin, perhaps Che (although I think he is getting too cliche with all the T Shirts), and then someone more modern and not usually depicted, like Noam Chomsky (hey, he is a Libertarian Socialist after all).

Trotsky also wouldn't have been bad since technically he was the first leader to go against Stalin (what with Trotsky's international socialism against Stalin's "socialism in a single nation" [which is contradictory to what socialism is]), just he died (assassinated) prior to Stalin's death, etc.

I have to admit....communist posters are quite stylish. I may not always agree with the messages, but the style of artistry and coloring is what makes them memorable.

To me the only form of communism that could've worked would be Karl Marx's. That would be called Marxism. Leaders of communist countries apparently changed some parts of the Communist Manifesto because they just didn't agree with them. In some countries, like the PRC, Karl Marx was NOT the founder of communism.

Unfortunately the reputation of communism has been butchered since the governments supporting this ideal were dictatorial.

You do realize the real Che has been clouded by efforts of misinformed anti-anti-communists such as yourself. Che was an Argentinian Revolutionist who was Castro's Primary thug. He was especially famous for presiding over summary executions at La Cabana, the fortress that was his abattoir. He liked to administer the coup de grace, the bullet to the back of the neck. And he loved to parade people past El Paredon, the reddened wall against which so many innocents were killed. Furthermore, he established the labor-camp system in which countless citizens-dissidents, democrats, artists, and homosexuals would suffer and die. This is the Cuban gulag. A Cuban American writer, Humberto Fontova once described Che as "A combination of Beria and Himmler." Anthony Daniels once quipped, "The difference between [Guevara] and Pol Pot was that [the former] never studied in Paris."

I think this idolization of Che is worse than Neo-Nazism, cause at Skinheads never really caught on.
